Chicken Tikka Ma-Crock Pot

Recipe: Cooking Classy with a Sprinkle of Fancy – Slow Cooker Chicken Tikka Masala
After last week’s French Dip fiasco, I should have stuck with something a little simpler. Don’t get me wrong, the recipe was straight forward and delicious. It’s just that when it comes to a recipe that is heavy on spices… you really have to have a palette. As a lifelong Beefaroni eater who has some sensory tongue issues… my palette is lacking.
Also lacking? Labels on our spices!
Wifey and I had the following conversation:
Me: Which one is the garam masala and which one is the cumin?
Wifey: The cumin is in one of the glass things.
Me: Is the cumin the darker one or the more yellowish one?
Wifey: It’s the darker one.
Me: They’re both in those glass containers by the table… right
Wifey: The garam masala is in the spice cabinet. Bottom shelf in a glass container with white top, no label. It’s also dark.
Tip: When you buy spices. Keep them in the grocery store jars.
We ‘upgraded’ to some fancy spice jars. But they don’t have labels.
I stuck to the recipe until wifey got home and let her toss in a little o’ this and a little o’ that. She also included a side dish o’ this and a side dish o’ that. I’d had a long day of anxious cooking and of course she just breezed in and whipped up two delicious side dishes.
Regardless, it was Chicken Tikka Delicious! Even Hanky would agree.
